Statement on President Trump’s threat against Governor Walz

Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bernie Burnham made the following statement in response to President Trump’s social media post threatening violence against Governor Tim Walz:

“The President’s post is the latest in a series of unhinged and dangerous threats of violence against Minnesotans and our elected officials. 

“Our state has seen real violence against our elected officials and statements like these, especially from the President of the United States, cannot be brushed aside. 

“Minnesota’s Labor Movement fully condemns the President’s behavior and calls on our state’s business community to do likewise. This behavior should never be normalized and must be condemned by anyone who believes in democracy and the rule of law.

“This administration terrorized Minnesotans all year and it will only stop when enough good people stand up against it.”
