In 2025, the MN AFL-CIO hosted a series of forums across Minnesota to consider: How are our unions addressing racial and economic justice? How are we adapting to the current landscape? How do we build solidarity across unions, and across identity, race, and creed?
The original 2.5 hour forum began with a panel of representatives from different locals and ended with a breakout session. This 30-minute workshop is has two components:
-A history section explores connections between civil rights and labor.
-An exercise to help participants explore and interrupt oppressive ideas in their workplaces and unions.
